About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to patients with acute/chronic kidney failure in oncology, medical/surgical, maternal, intensive care units, emergency department and PRI units. All staff work closely with multiple nephrology teams to provide patient assessments, patient monitoring, and any additional services needed while receiving hemodialysis treatment during hospital admission. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associate Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
  • Valid RN License.
  • One (1) year of Registered Nursing direct patient care experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethics and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • National Certification
  • BSN or MSN
  • Two (2) or more years of nursing experience with a minimum of one (1) year in an acute care setting such as a teaching hospital
  • One (1) or more year(s) of experience as a dialysis RN

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care for patients in within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.
  • The RN is responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members.
  • Collects and documents assessment data.
  • Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.
  • Implements POC including medical order and interdisciplinary approach.
  • Evaluates the progress of patient toward attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
