RN Acute Care Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute (OHARI) 📍 1300 Hempel Avenue, Ocoee, FL Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM FTE: 36 hours per week About Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute (OHARI) is a nationally recognized, CARF‑accredited inpatient rehabilitation facility delivering specialized acute rehabilitation services. Located in Ocoee, OHARI provides advanced, interdisciplinary care for patients recovering from complex medical, neurological, and post‑acute conditions. Position Summary The RN Acute Care is responsible for administering comprehensive nursing care in an inpatient acute care and rehabilitation setting. Patients receive active treatment for injury, illness, medical conditions, or post‑intervention recovery, supported by ongoing assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role also supports Hospital Care at Home services, combining traditional inpatient nursing with virtual and in‑home care delivery models.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Meets all Orlando Health and unit‑specific competency requirements
  • Active State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
  • Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain specialty areas
  • NRP required for NICU roles
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for Hospital Care at Home (In‑Home Nursing)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience (unless approved at AVP level or above)
  • Two (2) years of acute care RN experience required

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient needs and develops, implements, and revises individualized plans of care
  • Evaluates patient progress toward expected outcomes and adjusts care accordingly
  • Advocates for patients and families while promoting safety, dignity, and quality outcomes
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age‑specific populations served
  • Communicates and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Coordinates care and appropriately delegates tasks to team members
  • Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician as assigned
  • Serves as a professional role model supporting nursing and organizational goals
  • Documents care accurately and consistently in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, including:
  • Patient assessments
  • Medication administration
  • Treatments
  • Patient education and safety measures
  • Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and unit‑specific equipment usage
  • Provides acute nursing care through a virtual hospital setting
  • Uses TeleHealth technology to assess patients, develop care plans, and monitor progress
  • Applies critical thinking to identify and escalate patient deterioration
  • Collaborates with in‑home clinical and support teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Delivers age‑appropriate care within a virtual acute-care environment
  • Provides direct nursing care in a hospital‑at‑home inpatient setting
  • Travels within a defined geographic region to deliver in‑home acute care
  • Works autonomously while remaining connected to the virtual Patient Care Hub
  • Utilizes mobile and virtual technology for documentation and communication
  • Responds to urgent and emergent patient needs
  • Transports and delivers equipment, supplies, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy)
