The only unit across Sentara with the PRISM (Premiere Recognition in Specialty of Medical-Surgical) Distinction Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Applicants! This unit's patient population is comprised of Stroke, Kidney Failure, Diabetes, Diagnostic Testing, GI Surgical, Respiratory and also includes patients requiring chest tubes and trachs. The nurses on this 25 bed medicine unit are committed to providing world class care and have an active voice in decision that impact workflow. The unit educator offers individualized orientation and oversees ongoing educational development to help advance your career. This is a full time- days and nights and Part-time days available. New Grad RNs are Welcome to Apply! This unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty. The 10-week Transition to Practice program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in IMC areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice. As a Registered Nurse with Sentara, you can excel in your career. There are many different specialties where you can perform and grow your nursing skills in areas of interest to you. If you desire, there are promotional opportunities into leadership or to advance your level of care in a variety of settings.
