About The Position

Cleveland Clinic’s M71 Acute Care Lymphoma and Myeloma Unit cares for adult patients undergoing targeted cancer and radiation therapies. This dedicated team is focused on diagnosing and treating many various malignancies and hematologic diseases and is at the forefront of new, emerging clinical trials and cancer research. Many caregivers in this unit have become chemotherapy competent and received chemo/biotherapy certifications. A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One-year of current acute care RN experience.
  • Will consider military RN experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
