5N 41 bed Med Surg unit specializing in ortho stroke trauma patients. Faster paced med surg; You can get trauma certification on this unit. Forbes Hospital is a 315 bed, Level II trauma hospital located in the community of Monroeville. Our hospital offers the service lines of a city hospital, inclusive of trauma, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, obstetrics and psychiatry, while also building relationships across the organization in a community setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Assess human responses and plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families.
  • Provide transformational leadership in a professional practice setting.

  • Assign or delegate tasks based on the needs of the patient and skill level of the RN, LPN or support staff.

  • Assess patient reports/records change of condition and notify physician and/or supervisor.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Participate in systematic peer review and obtain informal feedback regarding one’s own practice.
  • Meet time and attendance guidelines per hospital policy.
  • Place the patient at the center of everything by continuously evaluating and assessing patient and family satisfaction.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to complete assigned duties and responsibilities.
