About The Position

4SE Telemetry/Medical Surgical 4SE is a 10-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit that provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for adults requiring both medical-surgical treatment and continuous cardiac monitoring. This specialized unit cares for patients with a variety of complex conditions, including cardiac disorders, respiratory illnesses, post-procedural monitoring, and other acute medical needs. As the primary receiving unit for inpatients from our Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), we ensure a smooth and continuous care transition for patients needing further observation, stabilization or continued treatment. For our cardiac population, patients commonly admitted to this unit include those with arrythmias, chest pain, heart failure, electrolyte imbalances, post-procedural monitoring (such as cardiac catheterization, pacemaker/ICD insertion, and ablations) as well as other cardiac conditions. For our medical-surgical population, patients commonly admitted to this unit include those with respiratory conditions, urological or neurological concerns; as well as other conditions requiring close observation. The smaller unit size fosters a collaborative team atmosphere and allows staff to develop strong relationships with patients and families, while delivering attentive, high-quality care. Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
Accepts assignments in areas other than primary unit, and performs duties within individualized competency.
