About The Position

Our Emergency Room is accredited by the American Heart Association to treat all cardiac emergencies. Glendale Memorial Hospital is a Los Angeles County-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. We’re also proud to be certified by the Joint Commission as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center—which means we meet rigorous standards for performing endovascular thrombectomy and providing post-procedural care. Our facility is also designated to treat pediatric emergencies. Glendale Memorial's emergency-trained physicians, nurses and technicians offer quality care when you need it most. Provides effective,comprehensive evidence based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes. Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient. Collaborates with other disciplines to insure comprehensive, holistic and effective plan of care. Applies knowledge of current practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules and regulations. Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing or escalating issues. Serves as a patient advocate. Completes patient assessments competently. Assesses for and identifies needs of unit-specific patient population: Assesses for and identifies any physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, discharge and cultural needs. Completes an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient. Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated. Prioritizes care needs and sets measurable goals and time frames. Includes patient and family in the planning. Implements interventions based on nursing and medical plan of care. Manages patient population, diagnosis and age specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions. Appropriately utilizes equipment and supplies (including following established policies, procedures and protocols governing the transport, handling and storage of intravenous fluids). After implementation, reassesses the patient to verify effectiveness of interventions. Updates the plan of care to reflect current care needs. Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e.. LOC change, vital signs, test results)in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months previous acute care RN experience in speciality area required
Registered Nurse with current California License required.
Current BLS ACLS PALS from the American Heart Association Required.
