About The Position

The RME Technician in the Sterile Processing/Perioperative Department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is responsible for managing the inventory of reusable medical equipment (RME) and ensuring that staff have access to the necessary surgical and procedural instruments. This role involves actively participating in inventory management, preparing instruments for circulation, and maintaining accurate records of equipment availability.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good communication skills and ability to handle demanding and/or stressful requests.

Nice To Haves

• One year experience as an Instrument Tech or recent certification as an Instrument Tech.
• Certified Instrument Tech.

Responsibilities

• Managing inventory in all RME designated locations.
• Actively participating in searching for instrumentation in non-RME designated locations (i.e. decon, prep/assembly, OR, etc.).
• Preparing newly purchased instruments/sets for circulation.
• Par level management including cycle counts, scanning items in/out etc.
• Reconciliation of inventory into sets; completion of sets with missing items; returned to circulation (missing/holding rack).
• Etching, set building, count sheets, Censitrac upload, etc.
