About The Position

Residential Mortgage Finance – Senior Director / Managing Director (Originator) The Senior Director / Managing Director is a senior originator responsible for setting strategy, driving revenue growth, and maintaining senior-level client relationships across the residential mortgage ecosystem. This individual is accountable for balance sheet deployment, franchise development, and risk-adjusted returns. Job Summary Own senior client relationships and originate large-scale residential mortgage financing transactions Define business strategy and growth priorities for the platform and capital deployment Provide leadership across origination, execution, and risk management; develop and retain top talent Key Responsibilities Originate and structure complex financing solutions across residential mortgage collateral (warehouse/repo/term facilities and securitization-based structures) Serve as senior relationship manager and trusted advisor for key originators, servicers, aggregators, and institutional investors Drive portfolio growth while maintaining disciplined risk management (concentration management, stress testing, early-warning monitoring, and return optimization) Partner with trading, treasury, risk, legal, and senior management on capital allocation, risk appetite, and strategic priorities Negotiate major commercial terms and long-term partnership agreements; represent the firm externally with investors, rating agencies, and industry participants Build and lead a high-performing team; mentor senior and junior bankers and contribute to succession planning Qualifications 12+ years of experience in residential mortgage finance, RMBS banking, structured credit, or balance-sheet lending Demonstrated origination and revenue leadership with a strong record of risk-adjusted performance Deep market expertise and senior-level client network across the mortgage finance ecosystem Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and risk management capabilities; willingness to travel as required Experience creating, analyzing or maintaining databases is a plus The expected base salary ranges from $275,000- $350,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in residential mortgage finance, RMBS banking, structured credit, or balance-sheet lending
  • Demonstrated origination and revenue leadership with a strong record of risk-adjusted performance
  • Deep market expertise and senior-level client network across the mortgage finance ecosystem
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and risk management capabilities; willingness to travel as required

  • Experience creating, analyzing or maintaining databases is a plus
