About The Position

Rita Sound Assistants work in the area of sound for events in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for the Arts & Humanities with the Sound Manager to help prepare, operate, and maintain the sound equipment. Hours are scheduled per event and maintenance needs. Applicants should have a basic understanding of sound systems, cable coiling, recording, and sound mixing. Both Work Study-eligible and non-Work Study students are encouraged to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of MUSP 240 or basic understanding of sound systems, cabling coiling, recording, and sound mixing

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and take down sound systems for events/concerts
  • Organizing and maintaining the sound inventory and storage spaces
  • Mixing for live streams, concerts, and presentations
  • Communicate with others well and work with a variety of personalities
  • May involve light to medium lifting and working at heights
