Risk & Resilience Analyst
About The Position
Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Resilience Analyst focused on supporting hazard mitigation, disaster preparedness and recovery, climate adaptation, and community resilience throughout the US. This professional will be part of the growing Black & Veatch Planning Solution focused on Communities & Ecosystems. Their role will be to provide technical excellence to deliver resilience-related projects with opportunities to engage with clients and support business development. With a focus on developing Black &Veatch’s presence in the resilience market, this professional will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support projects related to climate adaptation/mitigation, vulnerability assessments, hazard mitigation planning, coastal and sea level rise strategies, and resilient infrastructure system solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in engineering or professional degree in Sciences in area of expertise preferred with specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities.
- A minimum total of 1 year of related work experience. Graduate work may count as related work experience if directly applicable to job function.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- 4+ years of GIS analysis and data visualization experience.
- Experience related to hazard mitigation, resilience, disaster preparedness & recovery, coastal and sea level rise impacts.
- Experience with Federal approaches and tools to assess risks and provide hazard mitigation (i.e. FEMA HAZUS) climate adaptation, disaster recovery, and resilience strategic planning and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Support hazard vulnerability and risk assessment analysis for hazard mitigation, resilience and disaster recovery plans.
- Lead and support innovative data analysis and communication via Storymaps, dashboards, website integration for stakeholder communication and outreach.
- Support and coordinate risk assessment, hazard mitigation and disaster recovery planning.
- Support client and stakeholder workshops.
- Provide task leadership to deliver Resilience Planning solutions/studies/projects.
- Support engagement with new and existing clients to develop new business.
