Risk Reduction Assistant, Part Time
About The Position
New Position! The Township of Pine, located in Wexford, is seeking a Risk Reduction Assistant to collaborate with appropriate Township of Pine (Township) departments and the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company (WVFC) for fire prevention, life safety, and Community Risk Reduction (CRR) initiatives. While working under the direction of the Fire Marshal and Director of Public Safety, this role assists with planning and implementing risk reduction strategies aligned with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)1300. Hours: Part Time, up to 28 hours weekly Pay: $20.00 per hour Schedule: Flexible, On-Site, Monday - Friday with occasional weekend/evening/night.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience related to public safety, emergency services, community outreach, or a closely related field
- Firefighter I Certificate
- Obtain Firefighter II Certificate within one (1) year from hire date or job transfer
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Training Certificate (EVOC)
- Pennsylvania Department of Health Basic Vehicle Rescue or NFPA 1006 Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Technician (Pro Board)
- Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
Nice To Haves
- Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician Advanced (EMT-A) or Paramedic
Responsibilities
- Support community risk assessments and CRR plan implementation
- Assist with fire and life safety education, outreach, and public events
- Provide non-enforcement inspection support, including data collection and documentation
- Assist with smoke alarm installations, residential safety checks, and risk reduction initiatives
- Support pre-incident planning and digital property guides for commercial and high-risk occupancies
- Collect and maintain accurate program and outreach data
- Serve as a professional representative of the WVFC and Township
