About The Position
As a member of the Office of General Counsel, The Risk Manager I, acting under the direction, supervision and control of the Office of General Counsel (OGC), and reporting to that office through the Senior Director of Risk Management, supports the institution's clinical risk management activities, including directly assisting in the defense of claims against the institution and its staff, investigating patient events/incidents, administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, developing and conducting risk management educational programs, supporting the institutional Insurance Program, supporting all clinical program development and research, assists with regulatory compliance, assists with mitigating patient/family and clinician conflicts, and serving on hospital committees, all with the objective of promoting patient safety, enhancing quality of care, and controlling and minimizing loss to protect the financial assets of the institution.
