About The Position

As a Risk Manager in the Aerospace and Defense industry, you will support the business operations by managing risk and insurance programs. You will identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. You will work closely with other departments to develop and implement risk management strategies, manage insurance policies, and support the planning and tracking of program budgets and cost controls. You will report to the Director of Insurance and Risk and help fulfill their responsibilities. As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Typically, 6+ years of progressive risk management experience, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Experience working for an Insurance carrier or broker, or an in house corporate risk management capacity.
  • Expertise in Property and Casualty Insurance
  • Professional certification(s) in risk or insurance such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Risk Management processes with respect to coverage placement, contract review, insurance compliance, claims management, insurance recovery, and other facets related to protection of company assets
  • The ability to independently and collaboratively drive strategy to address complex risks and Business stakeholder concerns
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist or manage the company’s insurance programs, including policy renewals, claims processing, and coordination with insurance providers.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to the organization, including operational, financial, and strategic risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize the impact of identified risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies related to risk management and insurance.
  • Analyze risk data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on risk management activities and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Support the planning and tracking of program budgets and cost controls related to risk management and insurance.
  • Work closely with other departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to integrate risk management strategies into business operations.
  • Provide support for various risk management projects as needed.
