About The Position

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator supports Mesquite Gaming’s commitment to providing a safe, compliant, and health-conscious environment for team members, guests, and vendors across all properties. This position is responsible for assisting in the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of workplace hazards; supporting regulatory compliance efforts; coordinating safety training; and promoting safe work practices consistent with OSHA, state, federal, and gaming-industry requirements.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and local safety standards relevant to casino, hotel, food & beverage, facilities, and transportation operations.
  • Familiarity with ANSI and ASME standards as they apply to equipment, machinery, and workplace safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
  • Basic math and record-keeping skills.
  • State of Nevada Gaming Permit, Valid Driver's License, and D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old).
  • Valid proof of personal vehicle insurance.
  • MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and remain current on applicable safety, health, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DOT (as applicable), and state and local regulations impacting casino and hospitality operations.
  • Assist in conducting safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs across Mesquite Gaming properties to identify hazards, document findings, and track corrective actions.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of company safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Risk Management, Human Resources, and departmental leadership to support safety training, onboarding requirements, refresher training, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance documentation, including incident tracking, safety logs, and inspection records.
  • Support departmental leaders by guiding risk prevention strategies related to accidents, injuries, hazardous materials, fire prevention, and unsafe conditions.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
  • Meet compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations.
  • Formulates and suggests work safety standards and enforces procedures. Risk prevention areas include exposure to hazardous materials, accidents, fires, and other unsafe conditions.
  • Leads, facilitates, and advises departments in designing risk management programs within their own departments.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.
