The Risk Management Program Specialist will conduct investigations of State liability claims filed against the State and its employees. This role involves assigning specific claims to contract adjusters for field investigation and supervising their activities during the investigation process. The specialist is responsible for the overall quality of claims management, continual review of claims files, and all facets of litigation management. This includes scrutinizing legal documents, maintaining knowledge of applicable laws, and coordinating with defense attorneys. The specialist will also evaluate medical reports and vendor bills, authorize settlements, and maintain accurate claims information in the division's data processing system.
