About The Position

As our Risk Management Intern, you will assist the credit union’s risk management team in four key areas: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Vendor Management, and Insurance Management. Your responsibilities will include supporting ERM initiatives by helping to identify and assess organizational risks, aiding in the development and testing of BCP strategies to ensure operational resilience, assisting with vendor risk assessments and due diligence, and participating in the review and management of insurance policies to ensure adequate coverage. This opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience in maintaining the credit union’s risk controls. And, as part of the internship, you’ll get to complete at least one key project to enhance your learning experience and highlight your resume.

Requirements

  • Availability to work 40 hours/week throughout the duration of the internship (10 weeks, from June 1 – August 7, 2026). The schedule will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm and this position will be based out of our Plymouth Corporate Office.
  • Third- or fourth-year college student in active pursuit of a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Risk Management, Statistics or related, and a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above.
  • Availability to work full-time throughout the duration of the internship (10 weeks, from June 1 – August 7, 2026).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all its provisions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and various background checks.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Vendor Management, and Insurance Management are a plus.
