AECI is offering a paid Risk Management Internship at our Headquarters in Springfield, MO for the 2025 - 2026 school year! This part-time opportunity during the academic year has the potential to continue full-time through summer. Get valuable hands-on experience—and possibly even course credit—while contributing to meaningful work in the utility sector.

Requirements

  • Students currently enrolled in a Risk Management or related program (insurance, finance, business administration, etc.).
  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
  • Interest in insurance programs, data collection, claims processes, and corporate risk strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Insurance Application Support: Gather data and assist in preparing insurance applications; maintain records of open loss files.
  • Workers' Compensation Reporting: Compile payroll data and help complete quarterly reports for state-mandated payments.
  • Certificate Requests: Process requests for certificates of insurance from members and vendors.
  • Claims Data Management: Assist with claim documentation, data entry, and spreadsheet calculations.
  • Litigation & Claims Notification: Draft insurer notifications, track legal correspondence, and prepare claim documentation.
  • Presentation Prep: Help create PowerPoint presentations for internal claims review meetings.
  • Legal & Incident Notifications: Prepare documentation related to asbestos litigation and other incidents.
  • Optional Travel: Potential travel to plant locations and Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) chapter meetings.
