About The Position

The Risk Management Consultant position at Southern Company is focused on implementing, administering, and monitoring the risk management program within Supply Chain Management (SCM). This role involves developing strategies for third-party risk management, supplier segmentation, and reporting on supply chain risks. The consultant will facilitate interactions with stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring effective communication of the company's risk management commitments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, supply chain, economics, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance impacting supply chain risk.
• Understanding of the utility industry and its global supply chain impacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a learning mindset.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of business processes, AI, data structures, and systems.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud, Maximo, Fortress, and SMART by GEP is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Supply chain management or risk management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the risk management program for Supply Chain Management (SCM).
• Develop and implement strategies for third-party risk management and supplier segmentation.
• Facilitate interactions with stakeholders and suppliers regarding risk management.
• Educate business partners on their roles in the risk identification process.
• Create and manage remediation of risk findings, including new policy implementation.
• Utilize technologies to manage supply chain risk and sustainability processes.
• Summarize and present findings and concepts to various audiences within the organization.
