About The Position

As a Risk Management Analyst within the Clearing department, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the financial integrity of the CME Group clearing house. You will be responsible for identifying, monitoring, and mitigating risk across a diverse range of products and counterparties. By leveraging data-driven insights and technical tools, you will ensure that robust protections are in place to maintain market stability and support the continuous evolution of our global clearing services. What You’ll Do Monitor Market Stability: Execute daily oversight of variation, margins, and large trader positions to protect the integrity of the clearing house and financial system. Integrate New Products: Evaluate the risk profiles of proposed products and establish their parameters within risk systems to ensure proper margin coverage upon launch. Deliver Strategic Analysis: Produce detailed reports on asset classes, clearing members (FCMs), and customer activity to support decision-making for senior management. Conduct Risk Reviews: Facilitate and document annual risk assessments for counterparty firms, maintaining active communication with both FCM and Clearing House leadership. Provide Expert Support: Act as a primary resource for customers regarding margin inquiries and the use of the PC-SPAN tool, ensuring timely and accurate technical assistance. What You’ll Bring Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in risk management, financial analysis, or a related analytical role. Technical Proficiency: Professional experience with Bloomberg and Excel; basic to intermediate Python programming skills for data analysis and process automation. Industry Tools: Practical knowledge of PC-SPAN or similar margining software to determine coverage and risk characteristics. Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to manage risk through margin analysis, tolerance testing, and concentration risk monitoring. The pay range for this role is $78,900-$131,500. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
