About The Position

The Risk Intern supports Zinnia’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function through research, analysis, documentation, and coordination. Working closely with the Risk Director and Risk Analyst, you will help maintain the enterprise risk register, support risk assessments, and assist with reporting—enabling the Risk team to focus on judgment, facilitation, and executive engagement.
Zinnia’s 10-week Internship Program (May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026) provides hands-on, real-world experience through projects that directly support business objectives.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong interest in enterprise risk management, governance, or compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with risk frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM) or GRC tools (e.g., AuditBoard).
• Comfortable coordinating with stakeholders and managing follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Assist in documenting and maintaining enterprise risks in AuditBoard, including risk descriptions, ownership, scoring, and review dates.
• Track updates from risk owners and flag stale or overdue items.
• Support preparation for risk assessments and workshops by drafting agendas, compiling materials, and documenting outputs.
• Capture and summarize risks identified during discussions and help translate qualitative input into structured risk statements.
• Conduct research on industry trends, regulatory developments, and peer risk disclosures.
• Assist with risk dashboards, heat maps, and trend summaries for executive and board reporting.
• Track action items, follow up with stakeholders, and maintain organized documentation and version control.
