About The Position

Risk Event Manager The Risk Manager will have the opportunity to apply risk management and analytical skills to some of our highest profile Risk Management initiatives, including implementing solutions to ensure Card's continued stability and success. The Risk Manager will play a key role in the ongoing management of our Enterprise Event and Issue Standard, including application of our data quality management, evaluation and challenge methodology by the first and second lines. This role is also responsible for contributing to the development of strategic enhancements to other event and issue management processes. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated risk professional with excellent analytical, process improvement, and communication skills. The Risk Manager will have exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with leadership to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to Card. Core Responsibilities: Leverage Data and Analytics: Utilize data and analytics, including AI/ML experience, to manage risk, ensure visibility to business health, and elevate insights for Event & Issue management. Collaboration with Risk Community: Collaborate with the internal and external risk community to mature risk event methodologies, advance learning, and reduce risk exposure. Risk Liaison: Serve as an interdepartmental liaison, providing consultation and knowledge sharing across lines of business to ensure consistent application of Event & Issue Management standard methodologies. Process Improvement and Solutions: Develop and refine practical solutions to improve risk event management processes using data, technology (Gemini GEMs), and strategy. Multi-Organizational Partnership: Partner effectively across multiple organizations and stakeholders (ERM, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Technology) to achieve risk event management objectives. Risk Event Life Cycle and Special Projects: Manage the risk event life cycle (root cause, containment, remediation, recovery), possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and execute special projects for the team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 5 years of Risk Management, Process Management, or Project Management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Risk event & issue management and control management
  • At least 2 years of change management experience in process improvement and transformation
  • At least 3 years of experience in process management leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • At least 3 years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree
  • Process Management Certification - LEAN, Six Sigma
  • 5+ years of experience in responding to and interacting with internal audit or regulatory agencies
  • 5+ years of experience in process management leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • 3+ years of experience working in the financial services industry
  • Risk Management certification
