About The Position

Zurich is seeking a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer. The qualified individual must reside within Southern California, preferably Bakersfield or San Bernardino area's. This is a field role with approximately 25% overnight travel. This is a work from home role and includes a company car. As a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer you are responsible for providing jurisdictional inspections and machinery breakdown risk assessment services for customers and business partners. You will provide intermediate machinery breakdown consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazard/machinery breakdown management programs. Additionally, you will provide basic level training for customers, service design and coordination, marketing, and loss investigations.

Requirements

  • For Risk Engineering Representative: Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area.
  • For Risk Engineering Consultant: Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering area.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge within the boiler and machinery industry segment.
  • Relevant experience in the assessment of risk, based on what is required by Machinery Breakdown specific competency standards.
  • National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission Card.
  • Navy Nuclear School.
  • Insurance industry experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word).
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities
