About The Position

Associate, Credit Risk with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Dallas, Texas. Assess the credit and financial strength of the firm's borrowers and counterparts across North American Natural Resource counterparties and Latin American counterparties by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors. Review and approve loan transactions, determine appetite and regulatory ratings, monitor credit trends in the portfolio. Analyze the credit implications of various financial transactions including debt, equity and hybrid offerings, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and share repurchases. Coordinate with Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Legal, Operations and Compliance departments to approve derivatives business and ensure appropriate documentation, limits, and risk mitigants to protect against a counterpart default and minimize potential losses. Analyze the risks inherent in the products GS transacts, including lending, trading, and derivative products. Perform sector analysis regularly in order to assess portfolio concentration or trends. Monitor, manage and report exposures at a counterpart, product, and portfolio level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Two years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Experience with applying concepts of credit risk and its components.
  • Evaluating factors for assigning a credit rating.
  • Conducting comprehensive credit risk assessments for Latin American clients.
  • Reviewing financial statements and market reports for companies in Brazil.
  • Assessing a company's operating performance and financial prospects.
  • Applying tools and techniques used in financial analysis.
  • Developing and implementing credit risk management strategies.
  • Assessing credit risk models and methodologies.
  • Navigating through the Federal Reserve Bank Shared National Credit program.
  • Examining Commitment Papers and Credit Agreements.
  • Fluency in Portuguese.
