About The Position

The Risk Control Digital Forensics Intern position at Travelers is a full-time, hybrid internship designed for students to gain practical experience in risk control and the insurance industry. The intern will work under direct supervision, assisting in various risk evaluation tasks and collaborating with experienced professionals to develop industry knowledge and consulting skills. This 10-12 week paid internship offers opportunities to engage in real-world projects and presentations, contributing to the company's commitment to risk management and safety.

Requirements

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher in a relevant degree program such as Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Fire Protection Engineering, or related fields.
  • Must be registered as a returning student and have completed related work studies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
  • Strong self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Effective organizational skills and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to change.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.

  • Experience in consulting or client-facing roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, conducting, and completing risk evaluations of client locations.
  • Determine potential hazards and risk factors for risk selection.
  • Identify uncontrolled hazards and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Consult with clients on ways to control hazards to reduce, mitigate, or prevent loss.
  • Research and apply technical information to support current risk control service efforts.
  • Attend co-surveys with experienced Risk Control staff to learn and develop consulting skills.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Claim, Clients, BI Business Partners, and other Risk Control staff.
  • Complete one Capstone project and present to senior management on a relevant Risk Control topic.
  • Ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
