About The Position

Join Axos Bank's immersive 12-week Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and develop professional skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial environment. Along with your day-to-day job duties, you will take part in a capstone project, sessions with our business leaders, financial literacy training courses, Corporate Finance Institute trainings, and a volunteer day. Interns have a choice between one of two sessions to accommodate varying school calendars. Session 1: May 27 - August 14 Session 2: June 17 - September 4 The Risk & Compliance Intern will support the firm's risk management and compliance functions, focusing on the unique regulatory and operational challenges of clearing and custody services. This role offers hands-on experience in risk assessment, risk monitoring, and process improvement within a highly regulated financial environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the review and update of operational risk procedures, including documentation for new software implementations and regulatory changes.
Support the preparation and organization of files for control testing and support of audit examinations and regulatory reviews.
Participate in risk assessments, including monitoring for fraud, AML, and operational risks related to securities transactions, margin lending, and custody operations.
Help compile and analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to management.
Aid in the execution of internal controls, such as system access reviews, transaction monitoring, and documentation of control activities.
Collaborate with business units to address real marketplace challenges, including customer due diligence and ongoing verification of account credentials.
Contribute to the development and implementation of remediation plans for identified issues.
