POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Risk and Insurance Analyst DIV/DEPARTMENT NAME: (HTA) Corporate F&A (CRT) REPORTS TO: Assistant Manager, Risk Management POSITION STATUS: Full Time WORK LOCATION: (HTA) CGO (Schaumburg, IL) Note: Position must be local and commutable to the Schaumburg, IL area. WORK STYLE DESIGNATION: Hybrid (+50% Remote) WORK STYLE REQUIREMENT: Remote 4 days/Onsite 1 day FLSA STATUS: Exempt TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional (U.S. or International) POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $64,811.80-$89,116.23 annually This pay range is for the position's base salary only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with major area of study in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • 1-3 years insurance or finance related experience (Preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Follows the department project management process: Create and maintain project plans for insurance policies or special projects. Update activity in real-time for project tasks in the department project planning software. Meet task deadlines or negotiate extensions for deadlines (in advance of deadlines).
  • Ability to understand business processes and collaborate well with business partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools (i.e. excel, share point, power point, access, etc)
  • Strong computer skills required (MS Office Suite including Word, Excel Power point) required.
  • Experience working with large data files in Microsoft Excel preferred (Vlookups/pivot tables), Microsoft Word (mail merge).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; and the ability to disseminate data.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Risk Management (ARM) certification (preferred)
  • Property insurance experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Insurance policy renewal and annual maintenance (50%) Gathers, analyzes, and coordinates the collection of data for insurance renewals in collaboration with insurance brokers and internal HTA staff. Prepares insurance applications and obtains necessary internal approvals before submitting insurance applications to insurance brokers. Obtains and stores key insurance policy documentation (ex. applications, quotes, binders, policy copies, invoices, policy correspondence). Updates property values by location and asset type. Insurance policy or risk transfer methods involvement includes but is not limited to general liability, auto, workers compensation, property, technology E&O, D&O, Fiduciary, Crime, Cyber, Credit, Cargo & Warehouse, letters of credit, and surety bonds . Set up and facilitate insurance broker regular action item meetings to drive open issues to closure. Coordinate the successful completion of any insurance policy audits required by insurers. Obtain invoices, submits for approval, and ensures timely payment. Maintain department insurance budget and communicate budget status to key stakeholders. Provides ad hoc reports such as insurance schedules or risk analyses as requested.
  • Business Continuity / Crisis Management Program (15%) Carry out BCP Program assigned project tasks, helping ensure the BCP/Crisis Management program is running effectively. During times of active BCP/Crisis incidents, attends meetings, provides input, and completes assigned action items.
  • Insurance claims (25%) Works closely with HTA members, insurance brokers, and insurance companies to ensure claims are administered timely and appropriately. Documents activity in real-time, following department document management and project management software procedures. Develops and maintains claim reports, publishing reports to key stakeholders as requested. Identifies claim trends and recommends loss prevention techniques
  • Sales Division Support (10%) Facilitate certificate of insurance issuance through HTA’s insurance broker and help provide certificates to HTA members, customers, or vendors. Performs contract reviews and evaluates appropriate insurance requirements for vendors doing business with the organization. Ensures evidence of insurance is received and renewed in a timely manner. Provide support for annual audit activity, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and other regulatory requirements.
