We are seeking a Risk Advisor (Engineer Risk) who will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and communicating risks related to asset integrity, operational reliability, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) across Enbridge Gas assets in Canada and the USA. This position supports risk-informed decision-making by conducting fit-for-purpose risk assessments, developing risk models, and translating technical insights into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders. The role also contributes to value assessments for major investments through risk and benefit analysis, helping guide decisions that balance safety, performance, and operational priorities. Requirements

  • Related university degree in Engineering or equivalent, with P. Eng. or P. Eng underway (preference for PE designation for US applicants)
  • Four-plus years’ experience; OR six-plus years of previous field operations experience; OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience
  • Relevant industry experience of conducting and managing Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), especially FTA, ETA and consequence analysis
  • Highly numerate, logical, self-motivated individual with excellent attention to details
  • Ability to present and facilitate to a wide variety of audiences, including senior management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in integrity and/or reliability and/or pipeline engineering
  • Experience in data analysis and/or statistical analysis

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments to support risk-informed decision making
  • Apply fit-for-purpose risk assessment methodologies to identify and evaluate operational risks—including health & safety, operations, environment, reputation, and financial aspects
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Event Tree Analysis (ETA)
  • Apply ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principle in risk assessments and communication of results
  • Conduct risk tolerability assessments
  • Conduct value assessments (risk and benefit analysis)
  • Develop expertise and best company practices in risk modelling
  • Engage collaborators to understand their needs in risk assessment (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Report on risks and provide clear and concise documentation to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting appropriate risk methodologies and lead the execution
