About The Position

Risk Advisor Underwriter- Hybrid in Fort Washington, PA Hybrid working from our Fort Washington, PA office two days per week. The Risk Advisor UW: Generate profitable book of new business focusing on Attorneys Professional Liability Insurance. Demonstrate functional technical skills of underwriting concepts, practices and procedures including maintaining program integrity by adhering to carrier appetite, guidelines and compliance procedures, along with Aon policies and procedures. Build long-term relationships with brokers by understanding their needs and collaborating to grow their business; regularly connects with broker client to drive pipeline of submissions and coordinate their needs, i.e., timing, coverage, pricing. Demonstrate subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders. Has an excellent sense of priority and ability to respond quickly to broker needs. Meet personal and team sales targets while maintaining desired loss ratios. Lead and/or participate in projects including system and rate testing and audits. Follow up with broker customers to request additional information to facilitate underwriting. Deliver superior customer service according to service level goals. Escalate risks that are beyond assigned authority to underwriting management or the carrier for evaluation and direction. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • A demonstrated track record of success with strong underwriting skills and sales cycle experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in the insurance industry.
  • Proficient background in risk analysis and carrier guideline adherence.
  • Ability to work independently with gradual increase in underwriting authority.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, as well as articulate and document them
  • Property & Casualty license required.
