Produce Ripening Manager
About The Position
Overview: A global leader in fresh produce seeks an experienced Ripening Manager for their expanding operations. This role will lead and develop the company’s new ripening operations in South New Jersey. Our client is a year-round supplier for their categories and is highly regarded among retailers. This is a key leadership opportunity with a top fresh produce organization with the ability to influence quality, efficiency and operational excellence. This organization has a very strong brand, product line and industry reputation. This company is vertically integrated, with a state-of-the-art Packing/Cold Storage facility on the East Coast. This role will be based in the company’s greater Philadelphia/New Jersey offices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in ripening, fresh produce handling, and/or cold storage operations.
- Strong knowledge of ripening science. (ethylene management, temperature/humidity control, etc.)
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Understanding of food safety, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English / Spanish would be a plus.
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study preferred (Food Science, Agriculture, Supply Chain, etc.) or relevant professional experience.
