About The Position

The Rigging Foreman leads onsite installation teams through the preparation, installation, commissioning, and closeout of automated and traditional theatrical rigging systems. This role is responsible for understanding the full project scope, schedule, and deliverables, and for executing the work safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Clearwing and industry standards. The Rigging Foreman serves as the primary onsite leader and representative of Clearwing, coordinating closely with Project Management, Engineering, clients, and other trades. This position requires a hands-on leader who combines strong technical rigging expertise with clear communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of field installation experience and two (2) years of field supervision experience.
  • Valid ETC Rigging Installer Certification with demonstrated experience installing ETC rigging products.
  • ETCP Rigging – Theater Certification required or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and theatrical rigging best practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, crew members, project teams, and other trades.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, solve problems in the field, and make sound decisions under schedule and site constraints.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, often for extended durations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with loads up to 250 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights, including ladders, lifts, trusses, and stage grids.
  • Physical ability to walk, climb, crawl, and work in confined or difficult positions.
  • Work performed in active construction sites, theaters, and occupied venues.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, manage, and execute the onsite installation schedule and daily priorities.
  • Lead daily crew meetings to assign tasks, review milestones, and align on day-to-day objectives.
  • Supervise and direct onsite installation technicians, ensuring efficient use of labor and adherence to project goals.
  • Coordinate labor needs and resource requests with the Project Coordinator and Operations Coordinator.
  • Serve as Clearwing's primary onsite representative to the client, consultants, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Lead and document daily safety briefings for Clearwing installation teams and participate in all required site safety meetings.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, PPE requirements, fall protection, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain authority to stop work when unsafe conditions or non-compliant practices are observed.
  • Identify, report, and assist in resolving safety hazards, incidents, or near-misses in coordination with the Project Manager and Safety Manager.
  • Verify the proper installation of automated and traditional rigging systems in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Read, interpret, and apply CSI, architectural, and structural drawings and specifications.
  • Commission and configure automated rigging systems, including verification of system operation and safety functionality.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management to resolve discrepancies between drawings and field conditions.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and correct installation deficiencies to ensure system performance and quality.
  • Accurately capture and maintain red lines and as-built documentation reflecting deviations from original engineering.
  • Provide daily progress updates, photos, and end-of-day reports as required.
  • Communicate task status, schedule impacts, and completion milestones to the Project Manager.
  • Support punch list creation, tracking, and closeout.
  • Coordinate with other trades onsite to ensure efficient installation without impeding the progress of others.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas.
  • Manage job boxes, tools, and remaining project materials in coordination with Warehouse Management.
  • Ensure project equipment and tooling are properly prepared, checked out, returned, or reset between phases.
  • Work with Project Coordination, Purchasing, and Logistics to return unused materials and process RMAs in a timely manner.
  • Provide comprehensive user training on both automated and traditional rigging systems.
  • Assist Sales, Project Managers, and Engineers with site surveys, evaluations, and pre-construction planning as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
