About The Position

The Mundy Companies is seeking a Rigger for a 2-3 month turnaround position in the La Porte, TX area. This role requires NCCCO/NCCER certification and continuous, current experience as a Rigger in petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environments. The primary function involves assembling rigging to lift and move various types of equipment and materials, and demonstrating problem-solving skills in rigging loads. The successful candidate must prioritize personal safety and environmental awareness, possess a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, and be able to follow written and verbal instructions efficiently. Clear and concise communication, both oral and written, is essential. All applicants must be craft certified or pass a craft test, and successfully complete a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

NCCCO/NCCER certification
Continuous and current experience as a Rigger in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment
Ability to solve problems in rigging loads
Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

Selects cables, ropes, pullup, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved
Attaches pullup and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole boom with bolts and clamps
Attaches load with grappling devices, such as loops, wire rope, and chains to crane hook
Gives direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled
Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches
