About The Position

J PW Structural Contracting located in Syracuse, NY is currently seeking a Rigger to join their team! Assemble, disassemble and move heavy equipment & bulky objects by selecting and using the various rigging hardware, such as ropes, slings, shackles, clamps, chain falls, and come-a-longs in a correct and safe manner.

Requirements

• Experience with heavy equipment and material moving
• In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment
• Excellent spatial awareness
• Good communication skills
• OSHA 10
• 3+ years working as a rigger
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing during course of employment.
• Possess the coordination, physical strength, and agility to complete required tasks within the allotted time frame.
• Able to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with body, arms and/or legs without restriction.
• Acceptable visual acuity, either corrected or uncorrected.
• Able to work at heights and in extreme temperatures and moderately inclement weather

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years experience in welding
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
• Basic knowledge and understanding of layout
• Familiarity with reading and understanding blueprints
• Ability to handle physical workload
