About The Position

The position involves overseeing safety practices and conditions on construction sites, ensuring that corrective actions are taken when necessary. The role requires checking the adequacy of existing job methods and procedures, instructing journeymen in specific craft tasks, and being knowledgeable about various craft disciplines to facilitate work coordination and prevent jurisdictional conflicts. The individual will read and interpret blueprints, understand job specifications, and implement company procedures while inspecting finished work for quality and completeness. Additionally, the role requires understanding project scopes, priorities, and schedules, completing planned work on time, and identifying potential problems promptly. The individual must take remedial action when work does not meet specified standards and be familiar with project cost control procedures, ensuring adherence to established cost goals. Accurate reporting regarding time sheets, backcharges, quantity, and work status is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Typically has 6 years of industrial construction experience.
• At least 2 years in supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Identify practices and conditions that are safe and at risk, providing corrective action as needed.
• Check the adequacy of existing job/task methods and procedures.
• Provide on-the-spot corrective action when necessary.
• Instruct journeymen in specific craft tasks, including safety procedures and techniques.
• Coordinate work between different crafts to prevent jurisdictional conflicts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications, implementing company procedures and inspecting finished work for quality.
• Understand the work scope and integrate project priorities.
• Complete planned work on schedule.
• Identify potential problems in a timely manner.
