About The Position

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Rideshare & UM/UIM Associate Attorney on behalf of a valued client partner, an established multi-office civil litigation defense law firm. This role is a direct placement opportunity. The firm is seeking a California-licensed litigation attorney with focused experience in rideshare defense and Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) matters who can independently manage files, deliver strong legal work product, and grow within a collaborative defense practice. This position offers substantial case responsibility, client exposure, and a long-term advancement path. HireNow Staffing prioritizes attorneys with strong tenure, progressive responsibility, and demonstrated commitment to litigation practice, and candidates with jumpy or unstable resumes will not be accepted or interviewed.

Requirements

4–5 years of civil litigation experience with direct exposure to rideshare and/or UM/UIM defense matters
Active California Bar license in good standing
Proven experience drafting, arguing, and responding to motions
Demonstrated deposition experience taking and defending witness testimony
Strong legal writing, analytical reasoning, and advocacy skills
Ability to independently manage multiple active litigation matters
Professional communication skills with clients, carriers, courts, and opposing counsel
Stable employment history with clear progression
Direct rideshare and/or UM/UIM case experience
Strong motion drafting and deposition capability
Able to independently manage files from inception through resolution
Excellent client communication and litigation judgment
Seeking long-term growth within a stable firm platform
Able to work hybrid in San Francisco, CA

Strong UM/UIM coverage litigation background
Insurance defense experience with carrier reporting and exposure analysis

Responsibilities

Manage rideshare and UM/UIM defense matters from intake through resolution
Serve as primary handling attorney on assigned files based on experience level
Handle court appearances, case management conferences, hearings, and litigation proceedings
Conduct written discovery, analyze records, and develop defense strategy
Draft and argue motions, oppositions, pleadings, and legal memoranda
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Participate in mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and pre-trial proceedings
Prepare matters for trial including witness preparation, exhibits, motions in limine, and trial strategy
Communicate regularly with carrier representatives, clients, and internal leadership regarding exposure and case developments
Build trusted client relationships through responsiveness and strategic counsel
