AllianceBernstein's Request for Proposal (RFP) team is in search of a RFP writer to contribute to business development and client service efforts through the completion of RFPs, RFIs, as well as some due diligence requests for AllianceBernstein's Fixed Income Strategies. The Writer will specialize in writing RFPs for our Fixed Income Institutional Strategies and onshore and offshore Retail Funds in a timely and accurate manner, while also contributing, where needed, to the completion of other projects and requests. The Writer will be expected to be able to work effectively with the firm's Senior RFP Writers and Management Team, Fixed Income Product Managers and Portfolio Managers, as well as our Sales Teams, to write and maintain (keep updated) original and technical product-specific content to support our Fixed Income platform, and, importantly, to be able to effectively customize that content for specific sales situations as needed. This position will provide an opportunity to develop knowledge in the entire new business development process: from the initial screening of an RFP, to the organization and project management of an RFP, to the actual content creation and updating of RFP language and then, finally, to the follow-up and tracking of our RFPs. The candidate will be expected to handle a high volume of requests simultaneously and productively. Projects will be primarily related to new business opportunities, as well as some client servicing-related including Onboarding Questionnaires and client Due Diligence Questionnaires.

  • Write a high volume of RFPs for Fixed Income strategies across our global institutional and retail channels, and support other asset classes as needed.
  • Liaise with various departments throughout the firm to collect information needed to respond to requests, including but not limited to portfolio management, product management/marketing, legal, operations, AUM reporting and performance.
  • Create and maintain RFP language and content for assigned strategies of coverage, including investment process, research process, team information, and competitive advantages.
  • Maintain consistent product messaging and updated product language in our RFP database.
  • Collaborate directly with Product Managers, Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, Traders, and others to update existing RFP language and develop new language.
  • Customize final documents to reflect a nuanced and targeted response to the specific sales opportunity.
  • Handle follow-up work associated with RFPs moving to the next phase: coordinating answers, additional information, etc.
  • Oversee production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing and reproduction).
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
  • Field ad-hoc questions from our Client Response Center Team daily, as needed.
  • Knowledge of the fixed income and the asset management industry.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills; able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks to ensure that complex projects are completed by deadline, with interim review steps incorporated.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a large global organization.
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to learn technical info, including philosophy, research and investment processes of our products.
  • Demonstrated initiative and good judgment as well as the ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints.
  • Interest in and ability to interact directly and effectively with Sales Advisors, Portfolio Managers and other investment professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, and possess the ability to quickly master internal systems and applications.
  • College education required. 3-5 years of RFP and industry experience preferred. Direct experience with Fixed Income RFP content is a significant plus.
