About The Position

Marki Microwave is seeking an RF Test Engineer 2 to join our engineering team developing and testing industry-leading RF and microwave components. Marki is recognized for delivering some of the highest performance RF products in the industry, supporting applications ranging from advanced communications and aerospace to next-generation microwave and millimeter-wave systems. In this role, you will work independently and collaboratively with design, product, and manufacturing engineers to own RF test characterization efforts, develop automated test systems, and ensure high-quality product validation from prototype through high-volume production. You will design and troubleshoot RF test setups, develop tools to automate complex measurements, and analyze large measurement datasets to improve product insight and test efficiency. This is a hands-on engineering role for individuals who thrive at the intersection of RF hardware, precision measurements, and software automation. Marki values engineers who are curious, collaborative, and motivated to continuously improve engineering processes. Candidates with experience in data-driven test engineering, advanced analytics, or AI-assisted test automation are especially encouraged to apply. This role will require access to access information controlled under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR, 15 CFR §§ 730-780),and likely the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR §§ 120-130), and so applicants for this position must be one of a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or other Protected Individual (as defined under 8 USC § 1324b(a)(3)).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in RF test engineering, hardware validation, or automated test development.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, test development, new product introduction (prototype through volume ramp-up), or manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment and provide guidance to junior engineers Proven proficiency developing test automation and scripting using Python, MATLAB, or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills related to RF measurement systems and laboratory test setups.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple technical projects while maintaining high standards of measurement accuracy and data integrity.
  • Effective communicator who can present technical findings to cross-functional teams and management.
  • Strong understanding of RF and microwave measurement techniques including S-parameters, gain, compression, noise, harmonic distortion, and intermodulation performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, build, and troubleshoot RF test setups including signal routing, instrumentation configuration, and measurement calibration.
  • Proficiency with calibration techniques and measurement best practices for high-frequency devices and modules.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent for instrument control, test automation, and data analysis workflows.
  • Experience controlling RF instrumentation using SCPI or similar instrument communication protocols.
  • Ability to architect multi-instrument automation solutions and maintain test software across platforms.
  • Ability to independently analyze RF measurement data, identify trends and anomalies, and drive root cause investigations.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and production data analysis techniques such as SPC, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, correlation analysis, and yield analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or experience in AI-assisted analysis, machine learning, or advanced data techniques applied to test datasets is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute RF test plans to validate performance of RF and microwave components throughout product development, qualification, and manufacturing. Own test plans end-to-end from requirements definition through execution and reporting.
  • Configure, operate, and optimize RF test equipment including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, and related instrumentation.
  • Independently perform RF component characterization including S-parameters, noise figure/temperature, conversion loss, power compression, harmonic generation, intermodulation distortion, spur generation, and transient response measurements.
  • Design, build, and maintain RF test setups, fixtures, and automated test stations used for engineering characterization and production testing. Make technical decisions on test architecture and signal routing.
  • Develop automation tools and scripts to control test equipment, collect measurement data, and streamline RF testing workflows. Drive improvements in test throughput and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve test and measurement issues including equipment configuration, calibration, signal integrity, and test conditions to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements. Solve complex characterization problems using systematic engineering methods without routine escalation.
  • Analyze RF measurement data to verify product performance, identify anomalies, and lead root cause investigations. Translate analysis findings into actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Research and propose new test techniques, instrumentation, and measurement solutions to improve RF characterization capability and test efficiency.
  • Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to design, product, and manufacturing teams to resolve RF performance issues and improve measurement methodologies.
