Job Summary: A RF Technician works with limited direction to perform RF tuning and optimization & testing of new development and sustaining programs and special projects assigned by their managers.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge: RF signal chain, Mixers, Amplifiers, PLL, RF Synthesizer design working knowledge. Exceptional comprehension to perform any test, and the ability to write and document tests to help support Engineering; Accelerated understanding of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming . Able to verify test software used in assigned area such as C#, Java, LabVIEW, etc.
  • Skills/Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software). Basic customer service and organizational skills.
  • Education/Certification: Two-year degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

  • Works with engineers and senior level technicians to perform all work necessary to fabricate, test, build prototypes, bring, optimization and tuning of RF solutions which can be with SMT or chip and wire solution.
  • Assist in the development verification, validation, and qualification of products and/or test equipment
  • Interpret and manage work in accordance with work orders, drawings and schematics, sketches, catalogs, manuals, all other applicable engineering and customer specifications, and oral instructions
  • Setup, calibrate, adapt, operate and interpret results from standard tools such as Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, signal generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, in addition to automatic test equipment or special test consoles to simulate in-service conditions and specialized test equipment applicable to assigned area
  • Perform functional, calibration, qualification, acceptance tests (if applicable), design verification tests under all applicable environmental and operational variables such as temperature, humidity, altitude, shock, vibration, EMI, and various stresses
  • Review and perform plans and procedures to perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems
  • Review, dry-run and redline, provide input for Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), Standard Test Procedures (STPs), Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs), Design Verification Test Procedures (DVTPs), and other relevant and related procedures in support of engineering directed changes
  • Document, analyze and organize test data, make computations, plot, graph and chart as needed, and otherwise prepare concise and accurate reports of test results.
  • Interface with all applicable groups such as Production Technicians, Assemblers, Buyers, Engineers, Quality Assurance and others as necessary to exchange information, provide technical assistance, and share equipment; Assist with the transition of engineering to production.
  • Ability to take on more leadership role in the department for the Level V Technicians.
  • SME of area and able to provide cross functional support to one other area.
