Raytheon's Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Department is seeking an RF/Microwave Engineer I to work onsite in Goleta, CA on Electronic Warfare (EW) electronics product development for defense applications. The role includes design, analysis, simulation, validation, test, and support of RF/microwave & for Electronic Warfare & Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products & subsystems and participating in project teams in these roles. Occasional travel (10-20%) may be required to other Raytheon facilities and customer sites. What will you do: Participate in an analog/digital team to help define the signals between analog and digital interfaces. Assist the team in design and hands-on testing of microwave components, circuit boards and systems plus providing technical support to production activities. Be a part of a multidisciplinary engineering team throughout the project lifecycle. Receive Mentoring from experienced engineering staff who will guide you in your engineering tasks. Participate on a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals. Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
  • Experience with design, development, and production of electrical equipment and/or hardware.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Major: Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Experience with RF/microwave and antennas including experience typically acquired through attainment of a university degree or possession of an amateur radio license.
  • Previous internship experience in the RF/microwave discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs).
  • Familiarity with industry standard RF/microwave circuit design software and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout.
