Our R&D team is looking for a hardware design engineering intern to work with us on a signal source project. This role will help the R&D team with next generation technology for many challenging test and measurement instrument applications. The ideal candidate is working toward a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering and shows strong proficiency in circuit design and EE fundamentals, as well as a desire to continuously investigate new technologies, tools, and processes. The candidate should have exposure to microwave and power electronic circuit concepts. Familiarity with guided wave propagation (transmission lines) is beneficial. This role will utilize circuit design and analysis tools as well as test and measurement equipment to debug and analyze prototypes. A strong candidate demonstrates clear communication abilities and is ready to join a spirited, high-impact and collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Working toward MS or PhD, in Electrical Engineering (EE)
  • Strong analog and/or RF circuit fundamentals
  • Strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated – enjoys solving difficult problems in a team environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally with a team-oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

  • PCB design and layout experience, including component selection
  • Experience with circuit schematic and layout tools
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools
  • Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Ability to perform hands-on measurements with VNAs, oscilloscopes and signal generators
