About The Position

The RF Engineer Stf position at Lockheed Martin involves working on the AN/TPQ-53 radar system, which has been a critical asset for the U.S. Army for over a decade. This radar system is designed to detect mortars, rockets, and artillery, ensuring the safety of troops and their safe return home. The role is situated within the Integrated Warfare System and Solutions (IWSS) team, which is responsible for designing advanced radar systems for ground, ship, and airborne platforms. The RF Engineer will engage in the research, design, and development of RF circuits, including antennas and radiating elements used in radar applications across various frequency bands such as UHF, L, S, C, and X-Band. In this position, the engineer will collaborate with senior engineers and subject matter experts across multiple programs to design receiver and exciter circuits and subsystems. A significant aspect of the role includes mentoring junior RF engineers, providing them with technical guidance and leadership. The engineer will also conduct trade studies, perform dynamic analyses, and interface with vendors while testing transmitter, power, and analog circuitry. The position requires developing technical solutions to complex problems, supporting failure analysis, and managing discrepancy documentation and troubleshooting processes. Candidates should possess expertise in architecting and designing RF systems and circuitry for high-frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. The role also involves hardware layouts, component evaluation, prototype construction, and testing, as well as preparing test methods and specifications. The RF Engineer will be responsible for identifying and tracking RF technical performance measurements (TPMs) and providing inputs to product development for formal documentation, supporting manufacturing during the assembly and test phases.
