About The Position

The RF Engineer IV at GCI Communication Corp is responsible for applying engineering principles to design, plan, and implement company and customer networks, including satellite, microwave, and other wireless transmission systems. This senior-level position involves providing expert engineering support, evaluating new technologies, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring high-quality service delivery to internal customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in satellite or microwave communications systems engineering.
• At least eight (8) years of experience in troubleshooting, optimization, and design of RF systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and computer skills for technical reporting.

Nice To Haves

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• PE certification or other relevant telecom certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement RF transmission systems including satellite and microwave networks.
• Compose installation specifications for RF and ancillary equipment.
• Compile technical reports on system performance and usage forecasts.
• Conduct equipment qualification for various RF equipment including satellite modems and antennas.
• Perform technology comparisons for multiple access technologies and communications protocols.
• Serve as an engineering consultant to evaluate and resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction on complex projects.
