About The Position

Use your knowledge of hardware engineering discipline, processes and tools to help Resideo Security deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under general supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Resideo's next generation of Security products by designing, testing and/or validating products/ processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs. Use your hardware engineering knowledge by working on exciting products and processes serving customers globally Broaden and expand your knowledge by learning from highly experienced engineers and participating in challenging assignments Grow and develop your hardware engineering knowledge in a team-based culture working with innovative products and technologies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience in new product development testing
  • Practical experience and knowledge in long-range and short-range RF testing (i.e., FCC, LTE, BLE, WIFI, Z-wave, and Zigbee, etc.)
  • The ability to operate, set-up, and use spectrum analyzers and EMC test equipment
  • The ability to maintain, troubleshoot/repair, and calibrate EMC equipment, including its software
  • Can create and revise test fixtures/test setups

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with battery testing and/or willing to devote time to become the in-house expert on it
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Solder skills
  • Basic Coding skills: C, Visual C++
  • Someone who's a team player

Responsibilities

  • Determines and implements test plans for alternate components, pre-production products, production products and finished products.
  • Develops test plans for internal/external testing.
  • Creates and revises test procedures based upon changing product needs.
  • Creates test setups and can troubleshoot issues that arise.
  • Works with external vendors [ODM's/OEM's] to verify all test procedures are understood and all results comply with the stated requirements.
  • Ensure activities comply with Resideo ISO and various agency requirements.
  • Involved in product development to ensure the proper test requirements are clearly explained and included in plans from the beginning of the effort.
  • Enters all defects and failing results into the online systems for corrective action tracking.
  • Investigates issues in need of corrective actions whenever the need arises.
  • Validates solutions when corrective actions are implemented.
  • Performs analyses of all test data to determine compliance with the published requirements.
  • Acts as a mentor to technicians on all new and existing test procedures.
  • Communicates with the various Teams regarding test plans, results and corrective actions.
  • Participates in daily/weekly team meetings.
  • Uses standardized test protocols across products lines based upon published department guidelines.
  • Provides training on equipment where applicable.
