About The Position

Accountable for the test, diagnose and repair of Indra Air Traffic’s product portfolio arising from OEM production of core products and associated sub-assemblies. Assess the cost of each repair and identify products that are beyond economic repair. Liaise with Quality and Engineering to identify the root cause of failures and assist in implementation of corrective actions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with electro-mechanical componentry and products.
  • Repair and rework of components on PCBAs requiring hand soldering experience.
  • Experience of fault finding on electronic units in a manufacturing environment, using appropriate test equipment and circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, schematics and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with analogue and digital RF principles.
  • Desire to carry out hands on practical work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and data analysis
  • Ability to apply one’s own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A curiosity to ask questions and investigate failures.
  • Ability to absorb new information and training quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Test, diagnose and repair electro-mechanical equipment utilizing an array of test equipment including oscilloscopes, radio test sets and signal analyzers
  • Test, diagnose and repair PCBA’s down to component level in accordance with IPC level 2 and 3
  • Safety test customer and production equipment
  • Enter symptom, fault diagnosis and fix onto appropriate IT systems and fault databases
  • Accurately record productive and non-productive hours on our ERP system
  • Forecast and monitor job costs (labor and materials) to ensure repairs remain economical / profitable. Liaise with supervision in the event products are forecast to be beyond economic repair.
  • Monitor and implement CSD actions and change notices to upgrade customer equipment as required
  • Recognize repeat failures within repairs and highlight trends to production engineering and supervision
  • Provide technical feedback to the development engineering department relating to fault root cause analysis
  • Identify inaccuracies within test processes / programs and suggest changes/improvements to production engineering
  • Ensure all equipment is within calibration and appropriate safety certifications (PAT) prior to use
  • Maintain the job status on our IT systems including T-Card and ERP
  • Produce test and repair customer documentation
  • Provide updates to Customer Services Department on customers’ equipment repair status, & repair costing
  • Apply ‘5S’ and LEAN manufacturing techniques to the workplace
  • Report any difficulties/problems/concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Conduct other Product Technical Services tasks as requested by the Supervisor
  • Provide training & support to production operators, technicians & technician engineers
  • Understand and comply with Company and departmental policies and procedures
