About The Position

We are currently seeking an RF Datalink Technician to work in a collaborative and innovative environment to support Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at Hurlburt Field, FL. This is an amazing opportunity to directly support global Command and Control Mission Support program.

Requirements

  • Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification requirement within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office), familiarization with TCP/IP protocol and the ability to learn how to program various radios and computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years experience in assisting and managing radio frequency equipment and ensuring proper handling and accountability of Communications Security (COMSEC) materials in accordance with established security regulations and procedures.
  • Related mechanical skills such as electrical/power systems installation/maintenance, or military aircraft, and Air Force Special Operations experience are considered as positive.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the setup and operation of Radios and Tactical Data Link (Link 16) systems to include (PRC-117G, PRC-150, PRC-160, PRC-152A, PRC-167, PRC-163, PRC-158SADL, TacNet Tactical Radio, Small Tactical Terminal, and MIDS).
  • Assist Engineering teams with testing across Avionics / Data Links utilizing simple to highly complex and automated test equipment.
  • Activities include the handling and manipulation of extremely high value hardware, installation of setup of specialized instrumentation, and various maintenance activities required to support general laboratory operation through written hand-off instructions and released test procedures.
  • Perform basic electronic principles troubleshooting to determine problems in hardware or equipment.
  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, aligns, assembles and operates equipment according to preliminary designs, operating or repair manuals.
  • Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform system checks and preventative maintenance.
