About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated RF Compliance Test Engineer to join the RF team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting RF regulatory compliance testing on information technology equipment (ITE). You’ll work closely with the RF/SAR Lab Manager to execute test plans in alignment with scheduled test programs and technical instructions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of wireless communications and RF principles through coursework or professional experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory and small team environment.
  • Proficiency with RF measurement techniques and lab equipment, including: - Spectrum Analyzers - Vector Network Analyzers - Power Meters - Signal Generators
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skill

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
  • Familiarity with FCC, Canada, and European RED regulatory requirements and certification processes for wireless ITE devices.
  • Experience with RF test solutions such as: - CMW500 - Anritsu Wi-Fi Tester - Qualcomm / Intel / MediaTek Wireless FTM tools - R&S EMC32 or Elektra
  • A passion for RF engineering and a desire to improve cutting edge wireless computing devices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct RF regulatory testing in accordance with FCC, ISED, and ETSI requirements, including: - Radiated Spurious Emissions - Radiated Band Edge - EIRP on wireless (5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, etc.) ITE devices according to worldwide regulatory standards.
  • Perform additional RF regulatory tests on wireless ITE devices with both licensed and unlicensed transmitters, such as: - RF power and power spectral density - Conducted spurious emissions - Spectral emission mask - Receiver blocking, CBP, AFC, and more
  • Accurately record test data and collaborate with compliance engineers to meet testing objectives.
  • Stay current with evolving RF regulatory compliance standards and requirements.
  • Follow lab quality and regulatory standard procedures.
  • Follow lab equipment operation and maintenance protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively within a skilled team of RF compliance professionals
