About The Position

We are seeking Rework Operators for an established company in the Jacksonville, FL area who will be assembling solar panels in an environment controlled, manufacturing facility. Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Job Duties of the Rework Operator: Defect Identification and Repair: Determine the necessary repairs for each string/module by inspecting the product's physical condition, referencing defect locations, and analyzing the electroluminescence (EL) image where available. Repair 80+ strings/modules per shift using tools such as tweezers, flux pens, Teflon sheets, soldering irons, scissors, and wire cutters. Ensure all repairs are completed without causing additional damage to fragile silicon solar cells by handling materials and tools with care. Quality Inspection : Perform visual and physical inspections of completed repairs, checking for defects like cold solder using techniques such as the finger swipe method. Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the repair process. Documentation and Data Entry : Record daily repair activities, including the number of strings/panels repaired, time spent on each repair, defect type, and associated barcodes. Enter data accurately into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) using computers, keyboards, scanners, and other relevant technology. Material Handling : Load and unload rework trays (10-15 lbs.) into carts and onto line machinery as part of the repair process. Troubleshooting and Escalation : Troubleshoot basic conveyor and equipment issues, escalating more complex problems to the equipment team as necessary.

Requirements

  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle small tools and fragile objects.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality during repetitive tasks.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and conveyors.
  • Proficient with computers and able to input data into manufacturing systems.
  • Must be able to read and understand quality standards and defect descriptions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records of daily tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift and handle materials up to 15 lbs.
  • Must be able to work with tools that require fine motor skills.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods while performing repairs.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and be willing to submit to a national background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with small tools and delicate materials is a plus.
  • This position may involve exposure to soldering fumes.
