About The Position

The Rework Line Operator at Continental is responsible for operating machinery involved in the tire manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This role requires the ability to read specifications, manage materials, and communicate effectively with team members to maintain production efficiency and quality control.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Forklift driving experience preferred.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and manage the exchange of pallets, rubber containers, and trolleys.
• Mark and identify compounds, including special markings for Halobutyl, B460, and clean out compounds.
• Handle, transport, and store materials and compounds.
• Release batches of rework compounds.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address machine cycle issues.
• Read specifications and use hand tools and gauging devices to monitor product quality.
• React quickly to equipment downtime and notify supervision of extraordinary conditions.
• Perform actions with a control panel interface, both automatic and manual.
• Read and understand written and oral instructions regarding specifications and quality requirements.
• Communicate with inbound and outbound operators, production operators, and supervisors.
• Follow all plant and environmental safety policies.
• Drive forklifts and operate material handling equipment safely and responsibly.
• Participate in business team meetings and follow up on efficiency and losses development.
• Conduct improvement workshops on the shop floor with production and stakeholders.
• Ensure the implementation of standards according to CBS and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures.
