Physical Requirements: · Must be able to repeatedly bend or squat to pick up finished rolls of product from skids or racks and place rolls onto unwind machines. Rolls may vary in weight from 5 pounds to as much as 75 pounds each. This may occur as many as 20 times per shift. · Must be able to raise arms at least shoulder height to remove finished rolls of product from rewind mandrels. Rolls may vary in weight from 4 pounds to as much as 25 pounds. This may occur as many as 50 times per shift. · Must be able to raise arms at least shoulder height and use a pair of scissors to cut finished rolls of product. Must then be able to tear a piece of tape from the dispenser and place onto the finished roll of product. · Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and operate equipment. May have to stand in one area for as long as three hours at a time. · Must be able to Must be able to carry finished rolls of product and bend or squat to place either in a box or on a skid. Rolls may vary in weight from 4 pounds to as much as 25 pounds. This function may occur at least 50 times per shift. · Must be able to fold and tape together boxes as needed. This may occur at least 25 times per shift. · Must be able to operate a forklift or pallet jack to place or remove skids of material. Skids may weigh at least 200 pounds. This may occur as many as 10 times per shift. IT IS ALWAYS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYEE TO ASK FOR HELP WHEN NEEDED TO LIFT HEAVY ITES THAT ARE BEYOND THEIR CAPABILITY! Job Duties/Responsibilities: · Reads and understands instructions from production ticket and notifies supervisor of any discrepancies that may be found. · Locates signed and approved quality control sheet with standard attached, and places sample in a close proximity for continual reference through the rewinding and final inspecting process. · Performs make ready of rewind machine i.e. setting counter count and making all other needed adjustments. · Completes final checklist as required in procedures. · Understands over/under run limitations. · Runs job as quickly as job permits constantly checking for flags, missing labels, hickey, plate lift, registration on print-to-print or print-to-die, or any other defect that would deem the label unacceptable. · Always strive for the maximum threshold a job can run, remembering quality is our #1 goal. · Must be capable of making perfect splices to keep labels between problems to assure we do not throw away sellable product because material is very expensive. · Confers with supervisor if uncomfortable with making decisions regarding quality. · Makes core labels with all the pertinent information i.e. P.O. #, P/N, etc. · Maintains knowledge of safety requirements of job and equipment and becomes familiar with material safety data sheets. · Wears appropriate safety protection when mixing or using chemicals. · Ensures personal knowledge of and adherence to all applicable ISO procedures pertaining to his/her job. · Adheres to maintenance program on equipment as written in operator manual. · Performs or helps in all needed repairs to equipment. · Keeps machine and work area neat and orderly at all times. · Assists in other areas of production when needed or when workload permits. · Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
