About The Position

The Texas A&M Libraries are seeking a detail-oriented Review Services Coordinator to provide essential support for the Medical Sciences Library’s (MSL) structured review services. In this role, the coordinator offers guidance through consultations, responds to both routine and complex inquiries, and helps researchers navigate a wide range of information resources related to literature reviews. They serve as the primary point of contact for consultation requests, facilitating the process from initiation to publication and beyond for A&M Health and Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences (VMBS) faculty, staff, students, affiliates, and external researchers. The coordinator also contributes to collaborative efforts across the University Libraries (UL) and Texas A&M University, participates in ongoing professional development, and offers insight that supports resource planning and collection development, including the adoption of new tools and technologies. Position Details: This role is eligible to work at either the College Station or Round Rock campus locations. This is an on-campus opportunity. This role will be required to work in-person Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the first point of contact for consultation requests and initiates the reviews process.
  • Assists both A&M Health and Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences (VMBS) faculty, staff, students, affiliates, and non-affiliated researchers in accessing an extensive range of information related to literature reviews for MSL’s review services.
  • Processes consultation requests submitted through the portal.
  • Contributes to program plans and assists in their evaluation for events.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding literature reviews and inquiries into the service offerings.
  • Performs data validation and completion of appropriate forms, and records information in spreadsheets, calendars, project management software, and other systems and platforms used in the generation of literature reviews.
  • Performs relevant foundational work for building searches, including identifying synonyms, related reviews, and background articles.
  • Assists in translating database searches, generates updates, and/or re-runs pre-written database searches.
  • Assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.
  • Compiles and distributes reports for invoicing and statics entry, including number of hours worked, surveys, and other project data.
  • Maintains program records and databases such as lists of clients, and calendars.
  • Maintains integrity, security, and accuracy of literature review materials.
  • Organizes and archives methods development, documents, and communications generated during the review process.
  • Reports operational problems to supervisor and assists in contributing to their resolution.
  • Assists with virtual and in-person training.
  • Assists in maintaining and distributing educational materials, webpages, and program evaluations and assessments.
  • Assists in identifying funding opportunities.
  • Collaborates with MSL, University Library colleagues, A&M Health, VMBS, and clinical affiliates to enhance library partnerships and contribute to the education, research, and clinical missions.
  • Participates in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as a member of the Research & Education Services department.
  • Participates in team projects or special assignments for the University Library.
  • Participates in professional organizations and/or continuing education activities to incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services and programs.
  • Serves on campus and library committees.
  • Maintains knowledge of library technology applications, resources, copyright, systematic reviews, and other issues/trends.
